What are the legalities?

To better understand the legality and “grey area” around psilocybin aka magic mushrooms, you’ll need to compare it to Cannabis’ road to legalization. At the moment, Cannabis is legalized in approximately 20 or so states after first being declared decriminalized - however on a federal level Cannabis is still a Schedule I substance.

The current state of psilocybin is best thought of as a few years behind Cannabis as it follows the same blueprint from decriminalization to legalization. The first state, Colorado (same as Cannabis) lead the way with decriminalization of the psilocybin, now we see Washington DC, Oregon state (legalized for medical use), Seattle, Detroit, Oakland, Santa Cruz, and more having decriminalized the substance.

Proposals for the states of California, Washington, Massachusetts, and several others have been put together by policymakers as well and are hopeful in passing in the very near future. At the moment Psilocybin is still a Schedule I substance like cannabis.

PolkaDot operates from a decriminalized zone and still advises that all sales are up to customer discretion and advises customers to be aware of their municipal and state laws.

When will my package arrive?

We ship via USPS and other major carriers to get your order to you as fast as possible. It normally takes roughly 2-10 business days from when you place the order, and you can track your order at any point by visiting your account profile, or using the Shipping Confirmation email that we send when your order heads out into the world.

Do you offer free shipping?

We offer free shipping on  all orders over $100. Our standard option is $14.95, but we're hoping to offer lower shipping costs in the future.

What is the shelf life of shrooms?

When they are stored in a cool, dark, and dry place (14°- 20°C or 60-68°F), teas & microdose capsules can last between 1-2 years. Longer than this point can cause the products to lose some of their efficacy.

Chocolates should be stored in similar conditions and will normally have a shelf life of 9-12 months.

Where do you source your mushrooms?

Our mushrooms are sourced locally and organically grown using grain substrate and coconut coir.

How frequently should I take PolkaDot products?

What are the grey streaks on my chocolates?

Chocolates can be sensitive to any condition that's not ideal for long periods, whether it’s hot or cold temperatures. Exposure to extreme temperatures can result in Bloom, which is a greyish coating that develops on the surface of chocolate and is more visible on dark chocolate.

There are two different types of bloom in chocolates: fat bloom and sugar bloom. Fat bloom is due to fat migration and sugar bloom is caused by humidity. Chocolate should be stored at 14°C-20°C or 60°F-68°F with humidity under 65%. While we handle all of our products with care, we can't control conditions outside once they leave our hands.

Are PolkaDot chocolates created in a nut-free environment?

As some of our products contain nuts, we cannot guarantee all PolkaDot products are 100% free of nut contamination.

Although none of our products contain peanuts, individuals with severe allergies should proceed with caution.

Are PolkaDot products suitable for vegans?

All of our pectin gummies are vegan friendly and most of our dark chocolates are vegan as well.

Where do you ship?
 

We ship all over  the U.S. with the exception of US Territories and any APO/FPO address.

We use USPS to get your orders to your doorstep.

At this time, we don't ship internationally, but we hope to sometime in the near future.

When can I expect my order?

Shipping times may vary depending on the package’s final destination. On average, orders take anywhere from 2–10 business from when it was processed, to arrive.

How do you ship your packages?

All orders are securely and discretely packed with no way of seeing what is inside and shipped via USPS.

I live in a hot climate. Will my chocolates melt in transit?

During warmer seasons, chocolates can be susceptible to melting in the heat. We do our best to ensure chocolates are made and stored in ideal temperatures (60-68 degrees Fahrenheit) but unfortunately, once a package is handed off to shipping fulfillment, we have little control over their storage conditions. We recommend that customers who order chocolates to warmer climates to track their packages and bring it indoors once it arrives.

If you receive a chocolate order which has melted or been damaged in transit, please email us and we’ll do our best to make it right.

How do I change or cancel my order?
We try to fill and send your order as quickly as possible, which may limit our ability to add items to your order or prevent a package from shipping. Definitely reach out to us with a specific request and we'll do our best to accommodate. You can reach us via email.
How can I pay?

Currently, we only accept credit card payments. We’re hoping to offer more channels of payment in the future.

What is your return policy?

In order to maintain a level of discretion, we do not accept any returns of product. If you are unsatisfied with your product for any reason, please let us know and we will make it right.

Can I send a gift from PolkaDot's to my friends?
The fact that you're asking this question likely means that you're an exceptionally caring and classy person. You can (and should) send PolkaDot's as a gift to your friends and loved ones. Just be sure to change your shipping address at checkout — unless you wanted to gift it to yourself, that is. You'll need to place individual orders if more than one shipping address is required.
Do you offer free shipping?

We offer free priority shipping on any order over $100 and orders below that will start at $14.95 for priority shipping.

Why does my order have a shipping fee?

We contribute to your shipping costs on all orders, regardless of the transportation mode or location. For orders outside of local areas, the costs are significantly higher, leaving a remainder of $15 or more after our contribution is applied.

We want you to know that shipping costs do not change regardless of order size (unless you select an expedited option). We're committed to making sure you get your PolkaDot's on time and we're constantly looking for ways to improve the process so that we can deliver the best experience possible.
